Inovações cientificas no renascimento

heliocentric and geocentric
In astronomy, the proof of the heliocentric theory where the Earth rotated around the Sun, established the breakdown of the old geocentric view which held that the Sun revolved around the Earth. The first to stipulate this new theory was Nicolaus Copernicus (1473 - 1543), who spent several years working as a teacher in the Italian city of Padua. Soon after, Galileo Galilei (1564 - 1642) proved this theory calculations and the use of a telescope developed by himself.

The geocentric system was developed and defended by Aristotle (384-322 BC). Under this system, our planet, fixed and immutable, is at the center of a celestial sphere in the sky found and fixed stars. The sun, the moon and the five planets visible from Earth move at their own transparent spheres, describing circular motion. These were the characteristics of the Aristotelian universe model, which lasted until the sixteenth century
